Black halva is found on the coast of South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, the Persian Gulf, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, southern Japan and Australia. Black halva is a marine species and sometimes it is found at depths of 15 to 40 meters, but usually the depth of their life is 105 meters of the sea. This species lives on the sea floor during the day and comes to the surface at night and has a fishy taste that is low in oil with few bones. Recommended for cooking: steamed, boiled, fried, pan fried, grilled, pickled or served raw.
